We will observe how was developed the merchant ship with a radar system. Radar technology has a long developing history, it was developed in the process of the Second World War in 1942. However, all American and British trading ships needed to be equipped with the radar system to enhance the security of navigation as well as to reinforce the disclosure of enemy ships.
Fixing radar system took entirely some time to become commonplace on merchant ships of other ships. Because radar was expensive in that period and more or less it was complicated for operating officers to follow and use it. The demonstration was in relative motion that means to arise targets on the screen as PPI and it sometimes caused problematic things for the pilots as working navigators to straighten out. While the officers were watching to other vessels, they had to use a pen on the PPI plotting screen. It created and took a completely difficult time.

After that process, navigators had been worked on how to improve the capabilities of True Motion which was produced to be a big favourable outcome. It was changed with fixed coils and smart computer the True Motion Radars evolved into the platform for the growth of the first Anti Collision Radars. With this way, the navigator had much better absorption for taking a decision. Now the merchant ship was equipped with GPS, Electronic Charts and ECDIS which has with the radar. Now it has been accomplished the project which is 40 years ago. Also navigation technology is more advanced that imagined before. It is a really big success for the shipping industry.
